Have a YAMAHA PM 3000 console and want to convert it into a studio console.
Looked into to change stuff on the strips but not to keen on drilling extra holes for connectors and switches.
Been searching all fora for weeks and didn't find anything that specific suits my needs.
But got ton's of idea's after my search, thanks everybody, for contributing!!
The idea is to use it together with the insert patch bays, integrated in one box.
See:
Insert send is unbalanced so I think I would like to use the 1646 to get it balanced, volume control optional.
Using relays to switch and use the switch power to switch a relay on the channelstrip to set EQ to pre insert when I am tracking.
Still can bypass the EQ on the channel but also it means I can use the HPF.
All I need is a 25 pole connector on the desk to do this.
Is one big hole instead of 48 little ones.
Controlling this can be done with simple toggle switches.
Relays will switch in the recording mode and don't require to work at playback/mixdown.
Just want to know if I am on the right track with this or that I am a complete idiot wasting his time with smoking pot, drinking Westmalle Triple's and stupid audio solutions, combined.
Best regards,
Willem
