any clues regarding melting polyester resin ?i have gain cells out of an OPTRO 303 COMPRESSOR (Australian vintage ,there are no schematics available) Also other electronic bits and pieces that are encased in the stuff, untill the resin is removed the values of these components remain a mystery, any help greatly appreciated

I've used DICHLOROMETHANE with good results. But you have to do it a bit at a time, or it will disolve the resistors colour codes and leave you none the wiser.
Also it's toxic stuff!

I'm not sure if it's poly resin, but I've been having luck de-potting a circuit block using a heat gun and an exacto knife. I looked into chemical solvent options, and finally decided f*ck that, it's not worth my health to DIY with heavy solvents.

There is a huge thread on this, and many more minor threads, I would start by searching by Author, Peter Purpose, and work your way up from there.
I mean down.
What is the Peter Purpose anyway?
Is it purple?
Also maybe check any API Meta stuff or threads.
