Elma rotary switches - goldflash vs. gold 3 um

Any comments on the (quality) difference between the goldflash and the
gold 3 μm version? The gold 3 μm version is considerable more expensive....

I believe they have an Italian distributor......

..I was told the flash gold is there more or less only to protect the switches for long-term storage (until they're brought into use) - as the layer wears off very quickly when actually used..
