Great idea on making my own T-slot table. We'll see...
Making a tslot table will be difficult and unnecessary, tapped holes would be a lot easier and just as efficient.

I'm thinking of this rather.

Put a bunch of these together and you have a bed.... with Tslots already milled.

Yeah they work great I built a rocket launcher out of that stuff for the base. And also some cool high tech looking demo stands for trade shows. The rocket launcher was for High powered rockets with 500 pounds of thrust. Works great.

Type 8020 in the ebay search. Some guy sells their cut offs on there cheap. I bought some channel for my Mila's there.

Yeah I used that eBay 8020 store, got some 1515 and used them as legs of my worktable. Just add some L brackets, and MDF and it's done.

Good stuff.

This German guy sells vacuum hold downs on ebay. If panels are your main aim, this might be a good solution:

No knowledge of cutting fluid inhalation problems though. I have used a similar one to machine MDF on manual X/Y table - it worked well and the dust didn't seem to bother it.

I know what will help you out with your milling chops. You can mill me a 2ru faceplate for my LA2A

Great Idea! I get paid while I learn this thing.

Heheh, okay... I have made several rear panels cutout already... so I think I'm going to try more difficult stuff next... like engraving 3-4mm high text. Big text is easy... it's the small text that is a challenge.
