500 series DIY metalwork
« on: March 25, 2008, 10:47:08 AM »
ive seen the recent boxes rochey made and they look great.  what im wondering about is would it be possible for us to standardize on an L bracket for 500 series projects and take the expensive metalwork out of future projects.  i really like the simplicity of the eisen diy500 L bracket.  what do you guys think?

OHM'S LAW. Not as an abstract thing: you should be able to glance at a small circuit and "instantly" know I and V, the way a soccer player glances at the ball and knows the angle and kick

im much less intimidated by the metalwork now thanks for that.  is the aluminum sturdy enough or is it flimsy with iron attached?

thanks

Roger is right, registration between the L bracket and the front panel
is the hardest part of the design.

The way I seem to find easest for me is to bend the bracket first.

Layout the front panel part of the bracket and drill it.

Make SHURE all fits well then measure it every which way
as many times as it takes when making the FPE file to get it right!
(measure 5 times cut once  ) My 500 series FPE front panels have been around $45 each...

Its not really to hard to do..If this old duffer can make these
You smart young guys I'm shure can make 'em better.

Brake & shear in one, just big enough to do the L-bracket.
