I finally got my PRR Vari-Mu up and running yesterday and mixed a song with it today. Used it on every bus and on a lot of single tracks. This thing sounds freaking amazing! Easily my favourite compressor now. Just send audio through it and almost everything will sound better, more finished, polished, punchy, alive.

I even like the saturation on certain sources. I used LL1538 as input transformers and Edcor XS1100 for interstage because I had them here. Due to this the fequency response is just a little off, but it doesn't really matter.

So big thanks to PRR for this great project and thanks to Kent as well for making the PCB layout availible!

BTW, I switched the ECC82 for PCC85 experimentally but they overloaded quickly.

I'll up pics as soon as it's finished. But it's not really much to look at, it's more about the sound.
Thinking about that, I'll probably up some soundbytes as well...
