I was lucky enough to see Jan Akkerman in concert last Monday at the Half Moon in Putney.
Wow!
He was one of my favourite guitar players when I was in my teens. What a really great player !
Mine too!

Shit - I missed that Rob, I worked with him a few years ago at a Frankfurt
Music Messe show, we were both playing in a demo booth.
He was superb and a very friendly chap too ! We got to hang out for a couple of evenings.

Great player.
In fact the first 3 albums by Focus are excellent.
I believe they are going to do a re-union tour.
It would be great to hear Hocus Pocus played live!
Didn't he go off tangent and play the lute for a few years?
Anyway, great to hear he is still playing.

Not sure if that is with Jan Akkerman, as I believe he and Thijs Van Leer are sadly not the best of friends any more.
I'd be surprised if TvL has any friends anymore today

Any particular reason Peter?
Is he particularly unpleasant ?
Dunno how TvL was back then, but in a TV-item about him of a few years ago he didn't seem a man you'd want to have a few drinks with. To put it nicely: a bit too full of himself I'd say (I don't want to go into the literal meaning of 'full' since that's not relevant here).

But that's OK, good musicians/performers/taxi-drivers/politicians/plumbers don't necessarily need to be nice people as well. If they are then it's sure a nice bonus.
