I think it is no secret that both units are almost the same, but before I go on I post what I know you guys love most (o.k. - me too)

The order is a bit random, but nevertheless it is my peronal copy of the Rebis RA303 Complimex. And it is - no doubt - still available under the moniker of "Klark Teknik DN500". Now since I have some trouble with connecting the unit to my mixer I tried to find out whether I have the one with balanced or unbalanced I/O, since I knew both types exist. O.K. it is the unbalanced one, but the PCB looks very much like it is possible to still mod it with this option, but the signal-flow is very difficult to follow on the mainboard/subboard. But when I compare it to the DN500-schematic it looks like it's only a NE5534 and a few caps/resistors to put in and the input is symm. But I'm not sure if the circuits are that identical, so I'd like to hear from RA303-MANUAL-OWNERS or DN500-Owners how much everything compares to the pics / my guess / whatever. For making the Output of the DN500 symmetrical they have the option of putting a transformer in (same with the - anyway symmetrical - Input), wich should also be possible with the Rebis (the PCB has a lot of option-solder-joints...). So if anyone knows about this - especially which transformers they use here... - I'd love to hear.

Your turn !

The name should rather be "Comprexplim" than "Complimex" but they were probably afraid of being mixed up with ADR's "Compex". Klark have solved the problem well...

O.K. yesterday the pressure to use the unit was big enough to do something. I found two sowter 1:1-transformers in the drawer and dropped them in. And hey: It works very well now!

Input is still unbalanced but that's not as much of a problem as the output was. I would use the balanced Input-section that Klark have used but they were so clever to not print the component values in their schematics

Jens, nice to see your alive! Yes I think I have it but 1st it is in a cardboard-box somewhere, since I'm on the move with my studio and 2nd iirc it doesn't have the component values in it. How soon do you need it?

Chris

I know this is a long time ago but does anyone know the component number of the expander release pot? I've just received one of these with a broken pot.
