Hi guys,

I'm wondering if anyone has any photos of the cable that run from the console to the external power supply?

Also does anyone know where I can find replacement knobs?

Thanks,
Dave

Hello Dave,
The 169 is connected to the external power supply with a 2 conductors cable ( for zéro and +V )
Nominal voltage of power supply is 14 V DC.
Connector on 169 is a " DIN 45323", and bananas plugs on the power supply.
This information is coming from the Studer 169 Operating/Service manual.
Best,
Guy

Dave,
It could be a 3.5mm jack, but I'm not 100% sure.
I also checked again the manual and it happens that there are bananas sockets AND a jack connector both paralleled on the power supply unit.
May be you can get more information from here:

hi
i have one module of this desk
i would like to make a rack with it
i download the Manuel with schematic but i don t really understand
on the PCB we have 3 connections
2 x 13 pin and 1x9 pin
where is my +/- 15V?
48v?
and my out ?
i m very sorry but i would not break my 169
thanks
regards

ok
i m progressing....
i suppose:
+15v --) PP2 - 10
-15v --) PP2 - 3
0v --) PP2 - 6
+48V --) PP2 - 1

input mic+line on xlr ( it s easy)

but i don t see the output
normally it ll be after the polarity switch
so it will be balanced...
so for the output
xlr 1 --) everywhere on the masse
xlr 2 --) PP2 - 4
xlr 3 --) PP2 - 5
is that ok?

thanks

Hi ilikeit,
Why didn't you tell us the exact reference of your input module ?
It is labelled on the pcb as 1.169.xxx
Anyway, you are correct for the power supply pins
( OV is wired on 2 pins PP2-6 and PP2-7 )
The audio output of this input unit is unbalanced on pin PP1-12
If you don't want to go through the MUTE and SOLO FET's you can use PP1-1 as output.
Don't know if you need them, but AUX pre-fader send is on pin PP2-13, and post-fader on PP2-11 (you have to link PP1-11 and PP1-12 toghether )
If you want a balanced output you'll have to build an additionnal board (SSM2142 or equivalent is a good solution )
Hope this helps !

Merci guy
this afternoon i m coming back to my house
so i can give you the serial number of PCB
regards

the serial number of PCB is
1.169.200-13
i had one PSU
with +/-15v & 48v
i m trying at this moment
it s OK
i don t listen it but with my oscilloscope i can checked!!
i have just one oscillation
but i think the earth isn t with the good pin
maybe a lot a pics later....

i m obliged to make a balanced transformer in output??

so
i m trying to make my studer
and i have a lot a problem
when i m trying with a dynamic mic (sm58)
i have a lot of noise in mic level
i haven t voltage on the XLR when i switch on the 48v
also
when i m plugging the mic in line level
i have a little level (normally) but the signal is clean
i m checked the pin configuration for the input mic and its ok
my output is al right because the line level is ok
have you got any idea??

thx
