That music sounds like a cross between the scores form a third rate off-strip Vegas magic show and an 80's porno with an alien abduction theme.

Give the kid a diatonic whammy pedal and his hands would be free to do other more productive things.

Not exactly my thoughts but close enough!

"Using the Hotz Translator software ... can give you amazing power"

Don't you all inderstand?! It's all about POWER!

OMG - that's even worse than those guys in bars with an "automated backing"
keyboard , whole song comes out while they drink coke and have one finger
on the keys !!!

It sounded to me like bad Liberache meets a very bad Jens Johansen solo !!!!

.... and I thought that "Garage band" was bad

So my 25 years of learning to play keys and guitars is a total waste, guess I'll
start driving a cab then. . . . . . .

yep thats about the best thing to do ! Or stack shelves at Tesco :!:
As the great FZ said
Music has become illegal ,There are no musicians anymore :!: :?:

I hope that I'm at least qualified to drive cab after 25 years of practice.

My 15 years of practice has left me unqualified for just about everything.

I think that someday soon the music will die.

Poetry already has.

Guys,

Oh you miseries! Don't be so pessimistic! Don't worry! THAT'S NOT MUSIC! we are not under threat from THAT! Declining revenues and an undervaluation of music is another story . . .

That Hotz instrument can do other things.

It can make your children behave.....
"Son....if you don't take out the trash right now, I'll fire-up the Hotz.... "

or

Put it on the floor to keep the cat out of the studio.

or

On Sundays, put it under the doormat to shoo away those Jehovah Witnesses.

or

As a bug repellent...play anything on it, watch the bugs scatter.

or

The right notes/pitch is perfect for dissolving kidney stones.

or

Put it under your desk at work, and when that annoying co-worker comes over to ask you something, step on it whenever he attempts to speak to you....
He says, "Can I borrow...."
(eeeoooweeeeiiiia)
and you say, "what?"
"Can I..."
(rrrrrreeeeewwwrr)
"What? I can't hear you"
"I said ca.."
(weeeeyyyooowww)
"Did you say something?"
(woooeeeeekaakakaaaa)
...........
.......

Erik Satie or Jonny Greenwood would not poo-poo it like you guys. They would just whip-out a schlocky jam with a smile or twitch respectively.

I think that that thing is fun, in a 16 years old "Atari box-mouse" sort of way. I don't know the Hotz has been updated like some of the "mini-jammer" apps available for the iPhone, or that round table synth thing that people here link.

Anyone who has logged kilohours in the studio has both used and seen used various Barbie guitars, bee-boy beatboxes, kiddie keyboards, etc. Or the dented tuba in the corner, hmmm?

Who cares what it is, as long as the player or someone else taps their foot, or smiles, or gets over a creative block, or simply asks "what IS that thing?"

There is a 12 foot long beam-box overhead on the platform at Times Square NYC, installed 17 years ago, that had multiple trigger windows on the sides. You could reach up and break a beam triggering a sound. The point was to have a few people trigger the different sounds while waiting for the N/R train. It was fun to play. It's been on and off for a few years now.

I didn't know we had a bunch of Beethovens here!
Mike
