Hehe, awesome! :thumb: I can see you could also apply this to pot/switch combos aswell.

Is there an easy and repeatable way to correctly locate the centre of the shaft for drilling out for the shaft extensions?

I have this idea that there may be a finite amount of time in the universe...

I'm also not sure why I can't get this URL to post correctly, you'll have to paste in the last part

Sure, they exist -- I believe Grayhill has a range of dual concentric switches too. As always, the trick is in getting them in DIY-quantities.

The forum software doesn't like links with dodgy characters such as '|'.

Hi JDB,
yes of course the quantity can be a problem... here in the states I've ordered very small quantities of very obscure things from Allied and they could do it... sometimes.
it didn't always work.
I was interested in the link you sent...
I've tried to diy a dual pot and ended up having something useless.
Not that it was impossible, just that I didn't have the right parts on hand ...
I thought it would be a good idea to have an alternative in the same thread.
all the best

[quote author="Gerald Jansen"]Hi JdB,

I guess these types just aren't small enough:

No, those are very nice; I'd found those too whilst Googling. The main downside for those is that it's apparently a (very) limited batch; for electromechanicals and other parts with low MBTF I prefer to use devices which have a good likelihood of still being available next year. I've had too many experiences like Pucho's lament in the Brewery, and for DIY I don't have the funds for a proper lifetime buy.

If you are into DIY a dual concentric switch then you can take the challenge of modifying Grayhill dual concentric ones as far as positions. Not easy but possible if you have a steady hand and good vision or a magnifyer.

I may be able to get 1 last batch of surplus Grayhills PCB mount. They are 2P2T or 2P3T from what I remember. I think there are 2 kinds in all. I can get a hold of about 100 of each if they are still available.

I sold about 50 a while ago on the Black market. It was such a pain to pack and ship I didn't buy the rest.

If you guys are interested in buying more than a few at a time I'll get them (I just don't want to ship hundreds of boxes of qty 1 or 2).

Jim
