Is the standard EA-1166 suitable for 1 RU case height clearance ? or
should I use the EA-1166-500 ?

Which HB meter designated for Igor's 33609 and Parusha Case ?
cutout is Same as Sifam AL19WF, I think. compatible with HB Meter cutout
requirements ?

The additions to your site are nice. A plot of response curve for the "N" classic
transformers as compared to original would be a nice see for reference.

check the data sheet on the product page against the internal measurements of your case.

Compare these to Sifam's AL-19 specs. The 33609 cases were done for AL-19 meter's.

I know the AL-29WF are very tight in the HB cases. The bezel cutout is just slightly to small, but you can get it in.

Most of the GSSL cases use the 8027 1mA "B" meter (AL19-B) and the 33609 use the 8027 1mA "WF" meter (AL19-WF).

Lots of people are using the 8027 1mA "WF" in the 33609 case and have reported it is perfect.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi All,

SB-3A meter and knob bundles are up on the site and in stock.
http://hairballaudio.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=78

You can find them in the "Kits and Bundles" section.  I have a very limited supply right now, only about 15 units, but if you want to get them early now is your chance.  I'll have a larger supply in about 3 weeks.

Thanks!

Mike

Not Ed here, but I would recommend the EA-11148.  It's the transformer used in the F and beyond, which uses the same output stage as the "J".

There are other options like the EA-1166 for something different.  That might be cool.

Ed may have another idea or recommendation.

Mike

hi denis,

the 11148 is the transformer that is closest to the one in the original rev J.  wire it up using the rev F schematic.

the 1166 type from hairball will work with the rev J and rev F PCBs and will sound a bit different.  if you (or anyone else) decide go this route, i'd connect the 1166 primaries in series (red connect to orange) and the secondaries in series (blue connect to purple) as is done in a neve module.

Hello there!
Im done with my EZ1084 ..i already have my EA1166 for output.
Basically just waiting for the line in... L31267

;D ;)

Thanks.

Hi,

The line-in is still in development.  I think it's still a few months out with all the testing that needs to be done.

When is the bundles A/D likely to be back in stock? Wanting to get my order in before the holidays really start flowing.

Hi All,

I have an update on the A/D bundles.  The reason these are currently not for sale/in stock is because I am out of EA-5002 output transformers.

I had originally thought they shipped from the factory about a week ago.  However, due to a mix up at the factory they are actually not shipping until Monday.  This should put them in my hands by the 22nd at the latest.  Sorry for the delay, I know there are a lot of people waiting to order them.

Just a note, please do not email me asking if you can pre-order one.  I only sell what I have in stock and can ship immediately.  Mix-ups like this are a prime example of why I don't sell in advance.  Thanks for your understanding on this.

I did get a large batch of LED meters for the SA-3A project in yesterday and I expect a large batch of knobs today or Monday.  Those kits were low so you'll see an increase in stock there today and more on Monday.

I've also got some new meters in for testing today, so hopefully we'll see more cool meters in January!

Lots of other fun stuff happening like new product development, still working on those damn 1176 wiring guides(!) and expansion, expansion, expansion.

2010 was an amazing year at Hairball that saw a lot of really cool new product and exciting developments.  I'll be looking at adding coupon codes for loyal customers and special sales in the new year.

Thanks again guys and Happy Holidays!

Boy, how about it Mike. I say this all the time too.  :)  Makes me a little uneasy if my stock is off a little and it happens.

I guess you didn't learn about messing to much with the cat!

BTW, I was looking for the red Santa hat on your avatar but did not see it... :(

Happy Hollerdays, Jeff
