Time is running out, we have to get on a train from Berlin tomorrow and we have to find a booked hostel in Montmartre as fast as we possibly can.
Can one walk from the central trainstation to Montmartre?

Merci bien!

If you can get to a computer to post here, can't you Google Maps, pardon, Google Cartes, and check it yourself?

PS: The answer is indeed yes. It is less than 2 km, but if you have big bags, a taxi is recommended. The metro is just as tough as a walk with luggage.

Metro. -I just did it last week.

Take the funicular railway for the last bit, or your legs will pay you back when you try to get out of bed the next day.

Hi ChrioN,
Montmartre is a hill, and depending on what "side" of the hill your hotel is located, it can be a LONG walk from the railway station, and with some luggage a bad experience for your feet :sad:
"Bienvenue à Paris " !

Hi there;
To go to montmatre from gare de l'est is easy take metro line 4 to barbes rochechouart then two stops on line two to pigale and one stop to abbesses on line 12 otherwise walk 15 minutes on magenta blvd to barbethen 10minutes to pigale make a right to abesses you are there.
Easy ain it? Or the cab for about 6 Euros where ever is your hotel.
