Hey, I was thinking about getting a couple Sifam AL19w meters.

If I dont get the illuminating kit that comes with it, anyone know if this meter can be illuminated by adding a backlight behind the meter? Its tough to see from some of the pictures.

I could get the light kit, but I think it would make the meter too tall for a 1U rack? Could probably build a few led lights on either side of the meter maybe inside the rack housing?

I was just looking at the same thing for my AL19B's, which are going into a
dual 1176, if they are like these, they have an opaque white back, which does
light up through the front with a torch behind it.
A few decent bulbs or white LED's pointing at the back/sides should light up
visible from the front.

Marty.

I used the Al19B for my dual 1176 - I drilled a 5mm hole behind the meter and glued a 5mm superbright white led in there. You can see from the frontside that it's a smaller, round lightsource, but at least you can read the vu in the dark and know that your compressor is on ;)
