Hey Rascal thanks for update I missed the whole thread first time ...... great work very interesting.....so the capsule is kinda neuman copy of a neuman K47 ?...

I was thinking of buying a TLM102 with the view to mod......Im def gonna do something with the Royer circuit....Does anybady know what sort of capsule a TLM102 has ?.......

Great info about  transformer comparison......I too seem to prfer the sound of those old caps in various circuits as you say maybe its the drugs

thats a cathode follower with the transformer in the psu i assume.
did you solder the high-Z part directly on the pcb? (without teflon/ceramic isolators)

*additionally you can try connecting the back membrane, i had very good results for omni with a m147 capsule.

*as i just found out the tlm49´s rear membrane has no gold...

can you please share again your m147 mod connecting the other side of the membrane?
the pictures posted are 'gone' ;)
