the few differences i see seem to make posting easier. it will take some getting used to. i see that i can be notified of replies to a thread i have started or replied to but can i watch a thread if i haven't. i suspect that i'm not still watching the post i was watching at the old forum. is that true? there are some(probably many )i'd like to still follow so i was hoping i wouldn't have to make a post in each one.

No need to clutter board with pointless posts.

Find thread. (I just don't know if "watch" flags carried over.)

See top-right and bottom-right "Reply  |  Notify  |  Mark unread  |  Print"

Click "Notify".

"Are you sure...?" Yes.

Well, if you were not so busy pointlessly posting... :p

The most obvious place to set a Watch is while you are posting. Seavote knew that. I think the old software had a place for anybody (logged-in, so it knew where to send notes) to Watch a topic, but that's moot now. This SMF software has a "NOTIFY" button. You can set (or un-set) a topic-watch without posting.

I'm not 100% sure the notify is working; Ethan may still be hooking-up with a mail server.
