I was just wondering what ever became of the Equinox Systems U47 bodies? If they are no longer available, does anyone know of a similar body available these days?
chunger has good quality and budget model u47 models, i have an equinox and a budget 47 and in many ways the budget model is nicer..... whereas the equinox always felt cheap to me even when it cost 3 times the amount of this new body from chunger

I make some slightly smaller versions, just finished some FET47 bodies, just going to nickel plate, then make a few more long body versions as well as U67 bodies.

Trying to decide between that or maybe the Mic and Mod kit that includes the body. I don't know anything about that kit or its components though, like the capsule that comes with it.
Or, the ioaudio kit.
Don't know which way to go :-\ any suggestions? All would be in the same ballpark pricewise, but I've always built kits that include all of the parts, so I think I would like the challenge of sourcing all the parts and using the "build guide" this time.

Thank you for the info on Mic and Mod, I had no idea of the backstory. Ive been reading this forum for a few days now, but didn't see any mention of it until it was pointed out to me.

I normally size my mics to his size of pcbs.

I suggest 16gauge stranded copper for the PSU and 22 or 28 gauge for the mic. I like Silver Tinned copper with Teflon coating but it can be stiff at times and a bit of a hassle to strip. Check out Chungers store (studio939) for a nice price on small amounts of wire and Gotham mic cable.
