Thinking of incorporating a 1176 into a channel strip type design and therefore I do not require a balanced output, can I simply build without the OT or does the circuit require some loading/impedance matching? I am sure this question has been asked before, have been fishing around here but cannot find the answer.

Cheers
Michael

regular g1176 doesn't require a transfo to work, only to match impedance.  Someone else may check in, but i am sure this is the case.

I don't see why it should be a problem. Just remember the coupling cap at the output (which would usually be before the transformer).
