Cheapest tube guitar amp?

there is one really simple mod you can do to a AB165, that will make a differance and be completly reversible...only need to lift one end on two resistors.
on the powertubes, you have local feedback in a 220k from each anode back to the phaseinverter..just lift one end and the poweramp will break up much nicer.
when you grow tired of it, just bend the resistors down again and resolder. 
and if you have access to a gas driven solderpen such as weller pyropen, blast the fresh solder with the hot air to "age" it and no one will ever know.. ;D

Webcor Coronet reel-to-reel tape recorder with a burned out motor. $30 on ebay, ripped out tape guts. Great sounding amp with 2 6L6 and 2 12AX7 tubes. Has two 8" and one 4" speaker built in the case. Speakers on 3 sides of the case! I mic them in different combinations, but find the best sound a foot or two back with bounce from the other speakers.

I intended to mod, but it just doesn't need it.
