This is sort of a follow up to my last post regarding the primaries.  I've figured out that I need to wire the 2x12v in series to get 24v.

Do I literally connect the 1st 12v to the 2nd 0v to get an output of 24v AC from the transformer?  I don't know why the idea of this freaks me out, I guess some where in my mind AC is serious business but DC you can futz (I have such a potty mouth) around with a little bit.

Yep. -You got it.

Polarity is important, so measure the two ends afterwards... You'll either have a little over 24V (if you got it right) or about 0V (if you got one reversed). insulate the junction which you've created (whichi is effectively a center-tap, btw), since this CAN make life very nasty if it comes into contact with anything shic it shouldn't.

Other than that, you're right there.
