I'm going to experiment with shielding the PS transformer or eq boards to try to decrease the induced AC hum in my units. The best (cheapest) source I can find is this:
http://www.magnetic-shield.com/products/lab-kit.html kit LK110

Without knowing what thickness/type will work best, I'll have to experiment. Does anyone have an idea which thickness would be adequate so I could just buy that and not have a bunch left over from a $100 expenditure?

Or, is there a cheaper/better source? Any mumetal on old TV's, computers, or other salvage equipment?

Thanks

there are other possible solutions... having the power transformer separate from the unit. in an external box...
The transformer has four secondaries. Eight wires (nine with chassis ground) with connector(s) coming into the box is certainly possible, but not very elegant. But that may end up to be the best fix.
