What is this kind of switch/lever called?
« on: April 27, 2014, 02:22:44 PM »
Hi,

If you look at this device from Shadow Hills:

There is a switch with a "level" kind of control, going up and down to select modes. I'd love to have something similar on my own boxes. Do you guys know where this can be sourced and what they are called? Sorry, not a native English speaker so I can only come up with "lever switch" and similar and this isn't doing much for me in the ways of Google.

Thanks!
B

Certainly you can get "slide" switches with more than 3 positions (4 is common 5 and 6 exist).
Some slide switches have actuators that would hold a lever type button.

Let us know if you figure it out!

Multi-position switch gets a decent set of images in google... but no rotary switches mounted sideways.

I think these are the same switches they use in guitars to select pick ups. I also saw them i a tube mixer recently.

here's a link to what i think they may be:

Ian/harpo...Bingo... the word is "way" - 4-way lever switch pulls up a bunch!

Also the word "blade" ... but still no way to search them in mouser.
