Most noobish transformer question ever

Hi,

Hope someone will do me the favour of answering this as no matter how much I hunt google and the transformer meta here, I can't seem to turn up a definite answer:

I have a power transformer with a single 230v primary and 2 x 12v secondaries.  I want to connect this transformer to end up with 24v at the secondaries.

For this, do I connect the secondaries in series or in parallel?

Simple stuff eh  :.  I promise I will only ever need to ask once
