I messed about with this Thiele M4 for a while. Eventually, I decided upon using a version I've put together of the Lomo 19A19 circuit which I have posted here. Zener should probably be bypassed, and the transformer is a Lundahl LL1538. The wiring of the transformer pins may be wrong in my drawing (check the Lundahl datasheet). I still need to tidy up the wiring with zip-ties.

The mic sounds nice, and as Dale once guessed by the backplate design, it's quite bright. Fairly M7-ish but more treble (not nasty sibilant treble though). Thanks to Zebra50 for advice and to all others who contributed in earlier threads.

Roddy

hey roddy,
that is very cooooool looking.
did you repaint the body and make those black plexi plates for the circuit mounted parts?
request to see a pic of the lamp lit up! ;D
kind regards,
grant

The body and plates are actually all original. It's an easy mic to work in in that respect. The paint is pretty groovy too.
