O.K. time to fess up then

WHAT is your next project [ or few , but in a commited order ]
to finish ?

I have to finish modding  [ tracing ] a ts-9 dx , so i can sell the Analogman
modded one for bigger bux , that i bought broken and fixed it .
-today feb 8 th so i can list it on fleebay

Next proaudio project cloest to completion is the NEQ ,
- give me to weeks end i'll check the parts status today

• rangeblaster stompbox (range master clone.)  - due: Feb. 28th, 2009
• get Neve 1272 racked and working (mostly finished) - due March 31th, 2009
• SSL 9k - due: June 30th, 2009
• API312 - due: Nov. 26th, 2009

I have 2 Pr&e voice processors (comp, exp?, eq, de-essers) that need to be racked. The comp section sounds cool. They have been in my closet for 3 years or more. All I need is to spring for a 1U chassis from par-metal and a front panel from PF express. I even have the FP Express order ready.

I suck.

i have problems with shopping xs1100 and the right toroid tranny cause i do not understand
how i can set up a toroid with 230>250v,9v as i need 220v and 12v values ??? i hope i understand it anytime...
my deathline is yesterday  ;D ;D

get the fp from dan for the 1176, pcb's and switches from Hairball and a meter and finalize the unit

make the 6 headphone amps (got all the parts :-[)

sort my fetboy (stuffed) and rack it as a front to the second 1176 i have stuffed and rack it.

sort the 4 greens i have

then its on to the othe projects i have knocking about.

time frame ... as money allows ... but asap

Gentlemen , please add current expected completion date
VERY IMPORTANT
then we can hound you to finish

but more so you can do the completion backwards principle
or just priorise the steps you need to finish , and then you have the
goal of a specific date so you can gauge if your on track

they are all equal to me, its just time mainly thats my factor.

most important i supose is the hp amps, say 4 weeks? 08 march 2009

!!!! If someone willing to help me with my toroid tranny situation !!!! i wrote it above...
i could finish it faster (tranny for gyraf srpp stage powersupply pcbs)

transformer for what exactly? got my stupid head on today so a link would be handy

someone told me that one Toroid Tranny 230V -> 250V, 9V, 24V works for two PSUs *Gyraf* (Dual Pultec eqp1 or meq5 - each uses two psu pcbs )

im not sure how to align it to get the right voltages from it...  :-[ thats my problem.

In the spec is shown that i need 220v 15v and 12v for both PSUs. How can i get this with one of these toroid ???

You could possibly use one of these to power it all

the 15V option makes the next transformer a little hotter so instead of 220 you get 240V and it's not always necessary.
If you use the 15v make sure the LM317 has a good heat sink..

so 220V in to 15V out, then 12V in to 220V out.

thank you so much,.. i understand more now    but can i use the musikding trafo and split 24v to 2x 12v? would be more easy to order (germany).

Oh god...I'll put a couple projected dates, but I can't put a timeline on all of mine.

4 channel green pre - 2 channels stuffed, 2 to go, faceplate and racking - Beginning of april
2 channel 312 - 1 stuffed, 1 to go, faceplate and racking - end of april
2 channel 1272 - nothing done
2 channel fetboy - 2 channels stuffed, faceplate and racking
2 channel s800 - nothing done
2 channel nite eq - nothing done
2 channels of 1176 - nothing done

Adding a date is what makes you commit

OK , good idea so here goes :

D-AOC - finish wire up, change Lundahl's to Edcors and test - end of this week !

Dual 1176 - boards are done, fit in case and wire up - end of the month ( Feb )

Dual LA2A - nothing done, have all parts and case - done by the end of March/early April

PM670 - nothing done, have all but the 220u 400v caps ( anyone have some ? ) - done by the end of May
( may have to do 4 x 9k' s for a mate, week after next so that could stall things a little )

Later on in the summer :
Another GSSL & Turbo
Finish racking my pair of 676a's
2 x 492's and 2 x S800 eq's to do !!
Second PM670 to do
Blackface 1176 to do
Headphone amp and Sumthing rack to make with Lawo summing card.
2 x NTP Limiters to rack up in a 1U case ( need front panel )

Hey hotbaby instead of hijacking the thread you may want to take it to the lab

I'm trying the save the world & keep people accountable here

I made a lot of promises here a few years ago with the Calrec 1061 project.

I bit off more than I could chew at the time and had to go back to basic to learn, in the mean time a job etc got in the way. But I cannot rest until those promises are fulfilled.

First up - recap and rack a pair of originals I got over the summer as a 'reference'. This is a job for late feb, early march.

Second - complete the re-make of the 1061-1161 preamps with severe mods for the new Sahib/SilentArts 500 compatible rack. Just spent 500 quid more on parts and now have 5 input trafos plus 4 outputs to compare (20 combos including re-made originals from Sowter, multiplied by cap choices!) to create the BEST sounding preamp I can make, in reference to the original.

I was in chats with a pretty popular muso/producer who exclusively used 1061s on his last record for feedback to improve over the originals and may do a little listening session at his sometime if still welcome! Specifically looking to fatten and extend the bottom end, while retaining their punch and openess.

I am midway through re-doing the opamps with modern transistors. And have parts coming from Grayhill and Omeg as we speak. Hope to breadboard the amps during easter when I get time. Completely done by summer.

The rack has finally made it possible after a year of waiting for alternatives from SCA etc and attempting my own rack design which was far too ambitous (16 busses etc).

Once that is done I will:

A.) Do a 1061 eq version for the 500 rack or
B.) Carry on prototyping my console design which I did a lot of work on over christmas.

After that I have 2 EQ designs I am working on and a Neve/Pultec hybrid. Then the clones come PM670, DOAC etc haha

Tom - sounds like you have some interesting things to do, I kind of "bit off more than I could chew"
with a pair of 1073's and although the sets of boards are all done, I just don't quite know what to
do next ! ( have to fit each set into a 1U case too )
The £300 worth of required transformers gives me the "heebee geebee's" never mind the pots !!

Sometimes i just have to sell off the projects that haunt me too long ,
makes my list shorter .....and sometimes the money goes to buying
other gear  [ the trades get me back in trouble though ]

Having or getting a faceplate made , is a sign of seriousness
then i know it can turn out good
