Theres not much info on proaudio forums on their opinions on the DIY 1176 rev D that's in here so I would like some opinions from people who have used one. I am very much contemplating building one but I am unsure as to whether it sounds authentic or great. Has anyone compared it to other 1176 such as ones made by Urie and Universal Audio. How do they compare? Are they noisier, better sounding or no where near?

Thanks!

I seriously doubt you wouldn't love it. But if you want to hear a song with them in it I put a sample in the G-9 help thread. The rev D is on lead vocals, and all the toms. The Rev A is on snare. It's a pre-mix version in mp3. But you should get the idea. Sorry but can't give a better sample than that.

Also remember the components you use to build it will effect the sound. That's why it's DIY!

John
