The resistors used in the silicon modules were actually metal glazed, of 2 types: TR4 and TR5, usually 5%.
The ones used in the germanium modules "look" like carbon comp, but are actually Metal Oxide, mixed together with some TR5´s.

No, but comparing to Metal Film there's a lot of disadvantages
