Is there a Pulteq EQ DIY kit for the 500 series lunchbox?

I wouldn't mind making one of these. Is there one available, if not, is there other EQ kits for the 500 series?

There's a tab in the blue navigation bar that new members may find beneficial.  If you have a question, try a "Search" first.  This place is a wealth of knowledge, all you have to do is look around.  If, after reading the thousands of threads here, you still have no luck... someone will be with you shortly.

Now, some of these are older.  But I'll bet someone is sitting on some boards.  But for the money, the JLM PEQ500 is not a bad buy.

Yea, sometimes we come in from the postage stamp instead of looking for the whole letter. The search pulls up some weird and wonderful answers at times, but theres so much info in these posts its worth reading the threads anyway.

welcome, have fun,

Iain

I had a look at some of the 500 series EQ DIYs, looks a little harder than I thought and doesn't look as slick as the 1176 DIY.
I think Im thinking too far ahead of myself. I better see if I can finish this 1176 before going at it on the 500 series EQ otherwise Il have 2 paperweights!

The S&M EQSM1 kit is probably going to be the easiest one around. They sound quite nice. Huge bass and smooth highs. Extreme settings in the mids can get a bit funky. Something like a Trident with extended range.

I have a few Pultec inspired eq's in my lunchbox. Tight quarters in the MEQ500.  ;D

Ive decided to skip the eqs all together. Im going for the Drips La2a and Mnats 1176. They look pretty well crafted!

just so everyone knows, i contacted S&M about the trident style eq in a kit format, and he said they no longer sell the eq as a kit anymore. they just sell a pre built factory version.

id like to see another trident style 80b eq for the 500 slots as a kit again.

anyone want to jump on this task?

Yeah, I was really disappointed when S&M didn't offer the 80B EQ in kit form.

It'd be nice to have an 80B clone as then we'd have the 5003 (553-clone), the 1084 clone and the Nite clone.
