Ask the rep if they will handle .002 wire.
Some of the cheaper ones won't.

Just figured out that hand winding allows the detedtion of kinks in the wire, which will evetually break.
I have not found one kink in any of the x-formers I have unwound.
I f they caught you winding a kink, you were out the door immediately.
Hands can detect very small particles, and a kink on .001 wire is very small!
A machine winder will not detect kinks.

Any UTC that is cheap would be good if it's line level, mic in, splitter, bridging, whatever.
Hopefully they are the same core as the models made popular by vintage equipment hype.

Small hands definately help.
You know what they say, small hands, tighter ..............windings!

Thanks,

What do you want to use a 100X for?
It's a piece of crap compared to Triad, Peerless, Jensen-LL-Sowter.

But if you want high end roll off for that vintage sound then go for it.

well, i'm just continuing to source parts when i see em for the la2a clone project i started way bak when...
