Echolette AKG D12 - needs new capsule

I've got this Echolette AKG D12, that while it does still work it's a little tinny(!).... I know replacement capsules are either hard to find or too expensive to matter, so.....

    1) has anyone spec'd something modern and available?  ...or....
    2) can someone point me in the direction of appropriate info on the original?

I'm a major noob, but I'm thinking this would be a great chance to learn something before I take on an 1176 or such....
