Hi guys,
Since this is a vari-mu style circuit that works similar to the fairchild 660 670, how do you think it will do in a mastering situation? dual mono, 2 units. Too dirty perhaps?

I was thinking the same thing, maybe throw some stepped pots in there for easy recall? I can't imagine a pair of those would sound bad on program material. I've heard the originals and hooooooolllly crap do they sound good!

i was thinking the same  :)
BUT;
Drip still needs to solve the stereo link issue...
connecting vca ' s together, is apparently messing up the stereo image.
so, for now, its dual mono...

Dual mono for mastering; sounds like a bad idea.  Use them in mid/side configuration instead?  Stereo link ain't that hard; lots of discussion about it to be found here.

I personally think the originals are nothing to write home about (as compared to plenty of the others), and I sure wouldn't put program through a pair of them, unless it's a punk rock record, but that's for your taste to say.  I can't speak to the sound of the Drip, which is certainly a different sounding beast.

Be sure to post your experiments, results, and solutions.
