I'm racking a pair of Neve 3415s and I'm trying to decide what resistor values to use for the gain switching. Geoff Tanner recommends alternating steps between the two gain stages using a 12 position 2 deck switch.
Neve documentation specifies:
front gain increases
+3dB = 1Kohm
+6dB = 430
+9dB = 240
+12dB = 150
+15dB = 91
+18dB = 62
rear gain increase
+3dB = 1K5
+6dB = 620
+9dB = 360
+12dB = 220
+15dB = 120
+18dB = 91
What formula would I use to determine the resistor values for 11 gain steps (12 minus 1 for 0 gain)? I'm somewhat mathematically challenged :?
