Hi,

I have searched here without results to find an RF actuated remote talkback trigger.

Essentially a two piece device.

1.
A garage door opener style handheld box with a TALK button. The transmitter. Ideally operates on a re-chargable battery.

2.
The receiver unit receives the button state from the transmitter and outputs a relay closure. The receiver is connected up to the remote trigger input on any of the available monitor systems where that dry-closure control input toggles the talkback circuit ON/OFF.

End result is a wireless "producer-talkback" box for anyone in the control room not sitting at the console.

Ala brainstorm electronics remote talkback box.

Any ideas on a DIY version?

Thanks,
jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Why " re-invent the wheel " at DIYing a remote control ?
I have installed several talkback remote systems in studios, quite easy.
In electronic shops you can find an RF transmitter/receiver system ( 433 MHz ) at quite cheap, ( 40 euros here )
It is designed to swich alarm system on/off, or to replce door locking remote for old cars.
No need for a rechargeable battery, the small ( often 12v) battery will last for several years in the transmitter.
For the receiver ( 12V too ) I use a wall-wart power supply
Best,
Guy
