what makes these better? they are costly and assumed better built as they may have to keep someone alive but what is better? components? design standards?
Components have higher reliability and tighter tolerances, and the design standards take EMI protection beyond its limits. Hence the overall product reliability is much higher than consumer grade products. Plus all of these of course also increase the cost of design and development time.
