this is the output for a Scully (Ed Anderson inserts model number here)  doh, 280 (wtf) tape deck.

it will be taken apart and gone over with a forked tooth comb, any objections take them to the front off.

full props going out to ed anderson for ssurviving this long,  ::)

now THAT is service, folx!!!

the scully model number (280) is written on the tape in the photo, WTF, over?  ;)

and i think we have jens jungkurth (aka, family hoof from back in the day, now eisen audio) to thank for this transformer.  maybe some glideonfade dave and/or andrew "purple" roberts in that sauce as well... i dunno, it HAS been a while.

can't wait to see what is inside...

this one is giving me the blues with that soldered header plate, wtf?

well kiss my ass twice on sunday , will you look at that core!

holy jeeezus, this thing must have mega bass! ("mega bass" is a regestered sony copywright trademark)

alright, Lap 3, first time i have seen a lap 3 core in audio,

thats how all the industrial power transformers are laced, i still remember counting lams:

3..6..9..12..15..18..21..24.....coffee break!

3...6...9...12... ;D

ok, that lam is exactly like the utc 31 ui lam only different.

huh, so they're using a 375UI lam as a DU type lam?  is there anything in the little gap between the legs?  a little 3/8" square lam piece (instead of an I) or just a piece of paper or something?

pretty weird... but very cool.

hot damn, that is a bunch of info... very nice.  looks like a simple design, but it performs well.

so it has nickel lams, huh?  that is a pretty pricey hunk of metal!

ed

yeah, no wonder they went out of bidness,

of the 57 lams, i forgot to put in the notes that there were two lams made or regular barn roof or grain orient, kind of like keeper lams, only different, in fact, you can see it on that mag met pic,

i need to buy a disk micrometer, they are the only way to go for measuring wire and insl, the clutch on a mituyo  mic will smash #50  into a dozen different readings, can you relate?

here is some excess baggage that i don't want to claim:
