API preamp ft. Eckmiller w86a
I want to share this project with you. I did this for a while ago but it's still a funny Master EQ with an API preamp

Soundsample

Am I having a deja-vu ?!?!?  ???

If not, it's beautifully built, yeah !.

But I'm damn sure I've seen this one before. As a matter of fact, this eq inspired me to build a Pultec with an ASV 18tr (dannerstyle transistor summing amp). Mine's not finished yet (no frontpanel ordered yet).
But this very API/Eckmiller was the origin !!!

Nice composition that alu-panel vs the golden knobs with black in between !  :)

Where did you got that alu from ?
The Alu is from Schaffer.

Am I having a deja-vu ?!?!?
:) :) :)
Maybe from the Danish diy forum. I can't remember I have post it here before.

Very nice design!

Correct me if I'm wrong but did you connect the W86 output directly to the API input?
Is it connected so that there's an Eckmiller output trafo and an API input trafo in-between the two modules?
If I'm correct that makes a total of four signal trafos per channel.

I was wondering if it's possible and maybe a better option to short cut the Eckmiller output before de trafo with the API input after de input trafo.
I don't know if impedances match at that point.

Nut I'm very curious what you people think of my brainwave :)

best regards,

Matthew
