I suggest racking and reracking them a couple dozen times without washers under the screws,
don't fergit to really crank 'em tight!  hehe

pultec porn pics added in 1st post, not very exciting pics though...just a standard layout tweaked a bit, the Triad Tx gives the HF a subtle boost (1.5dB) against the Sowters being flat...sounds great!

Your dripp Redd cases are very nice! I'm inspired to go a different route with mine. Thanks for posting those pictures. Any advice on the 48v board?

sure for the 48v i used a TL783C, cheap tx from RS, total cost maybe £10...works a treat!

glad you like the case, trying to come up with some thing retro and something also.... mine...difficult!

;D

Very Nice Work!  - Those are some of best looking Pultec FPs I've seen.  Made the chassis too?  That's real DIY.  Great idea with the sanding.

What did you use for the lettering/numbering on the REDD 47s?  Has a great classic look.

Hats off and double thumbs!  Keep it up.

Hi Lassoharp,

fanks!

well the lettering for the Reds is some thing called Lazertran, its a decal that you then bake in the oven, then you have to clean of the remaining residue off with isoprop alchohol, and that also wears it in a bit, if you kept going it would disappear completely, but just enough gets you a nice worn in look..

you can buy it online, then there are a few stationers that will print it for you and send it back,(has to be a certain printer to print on to this stuff) just make sure you reverse the image before you send it!

google lazertran, there is a web site with all the info on somewhere...

cheers!

Hey drpat,

of course! send files away, do it quick though as they are sold, as soon as the knobs turn up they are out the door, a few weeks yet though.

ok i might be able to help you with your HS29, i have one, and the input HS56, but can i find a 2nd HS29, no where, so maybe i should sell it to you, and i look for another 56 to go with my 56...maybe..

OK, i have made Pultecs with all Sowters, and these which have Triad inputs and the rest sowters.

The all sowter version were clean, lovely sounding, wonderful EQ curves as you would expect, and the response was dead flat, with these two new ones with Triads in the inputs, it sounds pretty much the same but there is a subtle HF lift, 1.5dB from 1k to 15k, the only difference is the Triad so it must be that, it sounds superb mind.

but, i have never owned a real one, only a UAD plug version, which dare i say it liked quite a bit, and these def have the same or better mojo as those....all subjective any way...

Those knobs are PEC's, yeah they do look like AB dont they....

best
Pete
