RJD2: Analog Synths, fruit cobblers and DIY Modular synths
« on: November 13, 2009, 07:22:08 PM »
One of my favourite 'producer/musician/beatmaker/arranger/programmers' or whatever you call these multi-talented bastards...here's a cool vid where he walks through his studio and shows off synths, drums, recording bits and even some of his DIY modular synth and his workshop...

If you haven't heard tracks like 'Ghostwriter' you should - yes, there's hiphop-type beats and the occasional rapper...skip those tracks if you need to - find 'Smoke and Mirrors'...

He's gained a bit of notoriety for his tune in 'Madmen' opening credits:

Is that a real poncho or a Sears poncho?

Versatile indeed. He sings in this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KfyxZF1b5U

one of my favorites, even if it comes through as kinda too soft.

One of my favorites as well. He posted on TapeOp forum awhile back, he was racking channel strips or something the like.

My personal favorite tune is "Beyond the Beyond"

Now, maybe you don't, or shouldn't, grab the ribbon for far-harpsichord, nor the hot condenser for snare-kissing... yet often we do.
