I just recapped a Sound Workshop Logex 8 and it sounds great, but it has a couple problems. On one channel, when I engage the EQ it distorts, like the low end boost is cranked to +15. And, on another, the direct out doesn't work. Any thoughts?

I got an inexpensive dissecting microscope a few years back.  It's invaluable for checking circuit board work - you can see little faults very easily.

Bright lights and a magnifying glass.  Very close inspection will reveal possible solder splashes, cold solder joints, possible backwards caps.

Plus one for that. I have the lights I normally use when working and then crank up the fluorescent lighting when I need to check mistakes. I have a little magnifying lens that works wonders.

Thanks guy, solder was the problem. There was a cold solder joint in the channel with the broken direct out and a little solder splash in the EQ circuit.
