Anyone tried-listened this? Looks like typical "audiofool" thing but maybe is worth of trying  ???

  ~ DUAL-FET op-amp NE5532 for the output stage.

smells funny ???

I read they have alot of wima's on that board.
And NichHicon Muse Audio Grade too.
And dala and dale resistors

Its so cheap its annoying me because I want to try it, even knowing already that it will be a waste of money!

NE 5532's can be replaced I guess - but this has to be junk, surely......

Of course, I don't worry about that but the rest of design. Quality of the parts is OK but what about design? I'm really curious about.  ::)

Those chinese kits usually get somewhat a bad rap.
But if you browse diyaudio you will find lots of people building every sort of DACs.
Such as like this here: http://www.ezdiyaudio.com/
I even ordered a board and if I ever get around to build it...
::)

I was also looking at those!  There is an equivalent looking one with a PCM1793 that I thought was interesting, link is below.  Not very impressive specs they quote though for snr.. i bet the gigawhatever is similar tho.  It looks like most of the components are pretty nice, lots of those muse caps and dale resistors (and the ops are socketed).  It looks like some kind of mass produced board, same as the other link below, says "LM-DAC3 V5" on the corner, maybe the design is floating around somewhere?  It seems to be a pretty good (or at least fair lol) deal for what it is?

Looks good!
Actually from what I been reading on the internet, Wolfson DACs sound good (compared to AKM and Cirrus counterparts).
Pity it's only 2 channels over usb/spdif...
I been looking up what chips the popular multi-channel interfaces use, and it seems that even relatively expensive ones use cheaper codecs (as opposed to separate DAC and ADC), with very few exceptions like RME ADI something and this SSL Alphalink if I'm not mistaken. So I was thinking wouldn't it be cool to hack a hi-end DAC into your average presonus/motu/echo/rme and have lots of channels of top quality conversion...
::)

I was thinking about it, yes, but those I like (Prism or Lavry for example) is using some custom DA chips :( Or, if it's not custom than it's unknown  :-\
Actually I compared Alphalink with mentioned Prism and again I like Prism better, but I like AES option under SSL. Great value for money and easy to add 24 or more custom DAC channels . So I'm with Alphalink + some "interesting" DIY DAC's  ;)

I'm pretty shure Prism and Lavry use regular DAC/ADC with better analog circuitry.
Is there any other (inexpensive) way to get a card with a couple dozen AES/EBU outputs?

Well U'r right about Lavry, here's the link with first hand details http://www.lavryengineering.com/lavry_forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=202

Regarding aes cards I found SSL like best value for money because I need at least 24ch . Alphalink has minimum 24analog + 24ch aes possibility. There is some more , possibly cheaper options from RME , Lynx or Digigram but it's limited to 16 ch  :-\
