I have picked up an Optimod 8182A for next to nothing, being a multi-band AGC/Compressor/Limiter, it would be useful as Mastering or Sub Mix processor for ultimate gain and loudness control.
However like most Optimod's they are band limited to 15kHz audio, on initial investigation to expand this out to pass 20kHz or more, it looks like simple modifcation or removal of an LC low pass filter circuit currently containing 2 x inductors and 7 x caps. Has anyone experimented with these or done the same before? .... no point re-inventing the wheel if it has been done before.
