Does a U48 head fit a U47 body?

I had always assumed that these were mechanically the same and you could swap - of course the circuits are not quite identical - but having looked carefully at some pictures, it looks like the U48 needs three connection pins,

and the U47 only has two....

And of course to do figure of 8 in the conventional way you need 3 voltages, so three pins makes sense.

Can anyone with a 'real' U48 please confirm this, or otherwise?

So here it looks like the one on the left has three pins at the top, although it's not a clear enough photo to be certain...

No rush - I'm pretty certain about the 2pin/3pin thing now, but some photos would be nice.
