Alex Chilton's gone. Sad news indeed.

Love the Radio City Album, Ballad of El Goodo and some of the Boxtops stuff too.

How did I miss these guys? Just listened to a bunch of songs on Youtube, and I really like it!

They got absolutely NO AIR PLAY in Pittsburgh... which isn't all that surprising, but how the hell did I not hear of these guys until now? Again, from what I was reading, Stax kind of dropped the ball, promotion-wise, on them. Still, what a waste. I'm sorry I never got a chance to see them.

The recent Big Star box set is worth it just for the live disc. Great band, great songwriter...not enough recognition. :-\

Big Star got little big time air play anywhere unfortunately. The That 70's show theme probably eclipsed any of his individual efforts in terms of songwriting exposure.

Radio City was a great record with a very distinct mood. Why September Girls wasn't a huge hit is a mystery to me.

Sad to hear he has passed.
