It looks like there is

And if you compare it to Phantom http://www.groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=3024 there's even couple more!

EDIT:

Maybe some one with better circuit tracing skills than mine could solve what makes some Brauners "charming" opposed to "natural" with these pictures..

The basic schematic that Gus drew is on Zebra50's (new) site.

While the circuit obviously works well in the Brauner mics, I think it's not too hard to improve it in some respects. Gus gave some good hints already in the old thread. The circuit is pretty linear, so if you like the Brauner sound it's probably not because of the electronics but because of the capsule.

If I were to build a similar mic with an available capsule (such as Tim Campbell's) I would include a DC/DC converter as it makes you less dependent on a solid P48 supply. Also, I suspect the Brauner (MBHO) capsules may be designed for less polarization voltage than the usual 60V. I know that MBHO did special low voltage capsules back in the 70s (in fact I own some of those) and the FET Brauners are very low noise despite the lack of a DC/DC converter.

Don't know if it's linked to the main page, but I found it via Google:

Thanks! Ok it's Phantom, that's why i didn't find it. Still wondering about those extra caps on the track side of Phantera PCB. Those seem to be about the only difference between these two mics. From the clips i've heard i quite much prefer Phantera over Phantom. Quite a good example what a little difference in electronics can contribute to sound (assuming the capsule really is same).

thats the question. I like the phanthera, its very clean but kind of nice. If its just the electronics it would be interesting to analyze the differences... thry are quite apparent

Looks like one of the orange polyprop caps goes from FET to ground. But I'm not sure.

I suspect it's not just the electronics but a different capsule.

Be that as it may; you can't get either capsule, so you might as well design a circuit for a capsule you can buy.

What makes me think it's probably the electronics, is that in VMA you can switch between the two characters.
