anyone has built it?

- High Input (10M)
- xfer less balanced output to Mixer or converter (AD)
- buffer output (to amp)
- running on 9/12/18V (one or two 9v battery)
- Optional 48v Phantom powered
- Tone control (volume+bass+mid+treble)

thanks..

The stock circuit cannot be powered off phantom. Far too much current draw.

Take a look at Bo Hansen's DI box. It also runs on a 24v rail, but draws only 3.5mA.

IIRC, one JFP draws 24-40mA, subject to temperature variations due to the simplicity of the design.

Also, look at the Country Hick, which uses a similar topology but with a more stable, lower current output stage. You could probably tack the FET frontend of the JFP onto this one without too much re-design: http://www.diyfactory.com/projects/countryhick/countryhick.htm
