I have some projects for 500 series in mind...
Please vote what you like more, and...if there's no legal issues.

Tr@nsient DeZZigner
1176 (dual slot), for +/-24V (51x) only
DBX902 de-esser
Nano-compressor (based on THAT4301)

Or, maybe, something different?

Hey Igor,

I'm sure it's not intended to cause a problem  but I don't think using the name "Pico-compressor" is a great idea.  The Pico (and there are lots of variants of the design) is Roger's generic name for his compressors and has become something of a brand.  I guess it's been a funny transition from DIY project to a commercial venture but I think it's best to stay away from name (IMHO of course).

I'm guessing that by saying Pico-compressor you really mean a THAT VCA based compressor (I've no doubt you'll come up with something great!).  I only wish I had the time to even consider building one or even the mixbuzz!

I do think a 500 series 1176 based design would go down a storm around here...

**Disclaimer - I'm a happy user of a couple of Roger's commercial units**

Cheers,
Ruairi

Regarding the Pico: agree. It is possible to do something different
based on THAT4301.

1178 is great idea, it is easy to build, but it will be always linked in stereo
or will have only 6 positions for attack/release as I want to use Lorlin switches for front panel.
We can use same brackets like for MixBuzz500 and same front panel layout...
(except input/output control).

Bastards ! , it's waay easier just to dream about the stuff
Nano was an alesis term i believe but who'd want to call something small
pico or nan[ bread ]

Anyway first choice the TDzzz  i've been wanting some for a while i'd take 4
next  1176/8

Good oupt Igor , do you sleep ?

would be cool, but maybe expand on the idea? (no idea how though...)

yes! also voting for 1178, does not have to be fully dual

not so hot, prefer plug ins for this job

not too hot for me either.

maybe something along these lines:

TDz, as I don't believe we have a version floating around here yet. There are 1,000 different 1176s. Why not try something new?

P.S. I don't have a 500 series rack (yet), so feel free to veto my vote. ha

A digital drop-in replacement for a T4b - with predefined response curves, selectable via DIP/rotary switches!  ;D

(Only suggesting cos I have a D-LA2A on the "slow build" bench)

Yeah, OK, it's not 500 series...but hey!  :p

Hey Igor! I think something like this would be good. Not necessarily for the next project or anything. Re-amp, D.I., variable phase, telephone effects; selectable input impedance, instrument input, bal\unbal input, bal\unbal output(Hi Z output to instrument amp, guitar pedals), or for Hi Z ribbon mic input...etc. Lots of different combinations/uses.

500 series impedance 'toolbox'...with effects. (excuse my bad drawing skills)
Could anyone else use something like this? I think it would be pretty cool.  8)
