Just bought me a brand new Sony TV.
The thing has everything needed to watch Digital broadcast , HD video. etc
It even has build in Internet.
However here in Belgium, you still need a decoder and use the TV only as a big monitor screen, all functions go through that ancient digibox, even the remote control is only good to power on and off the TV. what a waste of money. I better bought a large computer monitor with a HDMI input, ....or not ?

How is it going in the rest of europe ?

Are you receiving using an aerial?

Probably best to go with satellite reception. If you get a big enough dish to receive from Astra 2D then you might be able to receive British services (including BBC HD) amongst others.

Same here.

;D

Doesn't it work with VRT (national television)?
I thought they forced the distributors to broadcast their 2 channels without encryption.

yes we have a few free channels. But it's a bit silly to go from one remote to another. We are 2010 .
And yes newer TV sets have a build in decoder, but like I said useless as long as we need to use a smart card.
