Still have to finish my GSSL's which I started 4 or 5 years ago. :'(
Anyway I finished a passive summing box, thanks to Stefanos, and a T-power converter for a Sennheiser MKH 416T.

Bought a lot of used boxes from an AV company with self build switchers in it and other stuff.
Front panels had a lot of EAO switches.
They are well build semi modular types, no idea of any brand.
Just replaced the front and back and voila a brand new case!

Kind regards,

Willem.

Are those wood blocks you used to mount your copper rods?  How did you get the copper so straight?

Looks good.  ;)

No they are made of an old plastic cutting board, just used my DeWalt miter saw to make them, whole yard covered in static chips.....what a mess!
The side blocks have blind holes to keep the wire in place, nothing glued or fixed.

Wire straightening is simple: clamp one end in a vice and the other in your drill chuck, and start spinning slowly for a couple of minutes, you will see the wire go straight.

The summing box....
What's your thoughts on using this for summing? Is summing all hype, or does it make a noticeable improvement to your mixes?

Please describe.

Thanks.

We tried it 2 hours after I was finished and it is a " revealing " kind of experience.
My companion, who does most of the mixing and producing was blown away.

Our setup is Cuebase 4 with RME Fireface 800 and ADI 8 Pro as converters.
Because you lose 40 dB we fed the output of the summing box into a SPL Goldmike and recorded it back on Cuebase.

I have some files that we recorded with and without it, will try to post them here later.

There is more room and depth in the mix, can't describe exactly how but sure it is there!

Kind regards,

Willem.
