Hey all,

My build calls for wima cap 100V 4700pF 5% Link: http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/WIMA/MKP2-4700-100-5/?qs=olJun0bQHM8WrnQGj%2f7QMA%3d%3d

This is listed as obsolete. My question is what replacement?

Do I use 400V 5% Link:http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/WIMA/MKP2-4700-400-5/?qs=2zryHe0dw94nOMZAI3VFZg%3d%3d
Or 100V 2.5% Link: http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/WIMA/FKP2-4700-100-25/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvCt%252bwg%252braTuhbHc7Tn9MdAcus2h%2fWfqis%3d
Or does it not really matter?

Thanks for your help.

Either will work.

Generally the 400v part will be physically bigger, will cost a little more, and may not fit so well on a given PCB.

If I was just buying a couple of parts for a specific project, then I'd go with the 100V 2.5%.

I concur. Tight tolerance is always a good way to go, and there is no need to increase the voltage if there is no need to. If it just so happened that you couldn't get a WIMA, there are many other great metallized polypropylene caps from, say, EPCOS for instance with equal stats and lead spacing.

Watch out the physical dimensions!
Despite being a 100V part, the 2.5% you linked is twice as wide as the original one (5.5mm instead of 2.5)
On some PCBs you may not have enough room for that...
