i am currently sourcing components for a "franks" enhanced pultec and mid pultec EQ circuit.
i'd like to understand how the interaction between inductor and cap work to make up an EQ circuit.
explanations and/or links welcome
thanks

Coil impedance rises with frequency.

Cap impedance falls with frequency.

Playing one against the other, you can slant response any way you want.

Inductors do effect the sound. They can saturate like a transformer does. Also for Eq they tend to sound much more "natural"/ Better

The webpage shabtek provided is a good source of EQ theory. Look at reactance for the effects on EQ circuits. I don't think they add as much character to the sound as much as an output transformer for instance, nor are they isolated.

thanks.  PRR,  concise to the point and easily understood. thread could have ended there!
then shabteks link filled in all details. here's the releent section:

man that was easy. usually my questions yeild large convoluted, technical answers i cant fully understand.

I've been plotting results from a Pultec mid eq, with variations.  The results of the slanting may help the understanding.

That page does not show "load". Many of those circuits, such as this....

....would do "nothing" if they could be totally UN-loaded.
